Mission Bay Physiotherapy Limited has been owned and operated by Natalie and Niccola since July 2010. They collectively bring to the business over 35 years of experience as both manual “hands-on” and occupational rehabilitation therapists.
Physiotherapist/Company Director, BHSc MNZSP
Natalie graduated from AUT in Physiotherapy in 1997. Since that time she has gained experience working in a number of hospitals, private practices and with sports clubs both in NZ and the UK at National and International levels. She has an interest in Acupuncture, Clinical Pilates, treating musculoskeletal conditions and sports injuries.
More recently Natalie has specialised further in Occupational Health. She has done extensive work in the field of ergonomics and treating work/overuse related injuries, providing personalised workstation assessments and completing worksite visits.
Physiotherapist/Company Director, B.PHTY, P.G Dip.Manipulative Physiotheray, MNZSP, MNZMPA, MCPTBC
Niccola graduated from Otago University in 1996 with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy. She has worked in numerous hospitals and private practices and has treated recreational, elite and professional athletes across NZ and Canada.
Whilst in Canada, Niccola worked in Whistler, one of the world’s top ski resorts, where she treated a vast array of orthopaedic and musculoskeletal injuries as well as completing her British Columbia Physiotherapy Registration and 2 post-graduate Diplomas in Advanced Manual Therapy and Manipulative techniques.
Physiotherapist, BHSc physio/ MHSc/PgDHSc
Bevan graduated from the Auckland University of Technology with a Bachelor of Health Science in Physiotherapy in 1995.
He also has a Post Graduate Diploma of Health Science in Manipulative Physiotherapy and a Master of Health Practice in Western Acupuncture (Hons).
Having worked in specialist clinics both in New Zealand and inLondon he has treated people from all walks of life, including top athletes, and a wide variety of injuries and movement impairments.
Using manual soft tissue therapy and western acupuncture technique, he has extensive experience in the treatment of neckpain, middle and lower back pain, knee and ankle sprains andsoft tissue muscle and tendon strains.
He also has experience in post-surgical rehabilitation. In London, he worked at the internationally renowned Wellington Hospital specialising in post-operative care of patients with spinal surgery and ACL knee reconstruction.
BPHty (Otago), MH Prac Musc, PGCert Rehab Hand Therapy
Rachel graduated from Otago University with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy in 2002. She initially worked in a pain management service so has a strong knowledge of the complexities of pain. She then went on to work and specialise in musculoskeletal physiotherapy working in a variety of private practice roles. She gained detailed knowledge of running, swimming and cycling technique and biomechanics and can analyse movement patterns in the context of pain or lack of performance.
She gained her Master of Health Practice in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy in 2010 along with a Postgraduate Diploma in Rehabilitation in Hand Therapy which she has incorporated into her private practice. Since having children she has worked in Vocational Rehabilitation assessing clients in the context of their work and designing and implementing programmes to return them to full work fitness. Overall Rachel’s strength is getting to the cause of the problem and resolving this to achieve sustained high level results for her clients.
Lesley started her Massage Career 15 years ago in the U.K. with a Diploma in Body Massage. She then completed a Certificate in Relaxation Massage (NZQA level 5) with Wellpark College of Massage Therapy in 2017.
As an active, working Mum she appreciates the benefits massage can bring to the body and the mind. Her particular interest is whole body well-being and stress management, she believes her skills in Relaxation, Swedish and Myo-fascial techniques can help with a balanced lifestyle.
Self improvement is important to Lesley, she is currently extending her practice studying a Diploma in Integrated Reflexology.
Dietician, NZRD, Master of Science with First Class Honours in Nutrition and Dietetics, Graduate Diploma in Science in Human Nutrition
Donna is a Dietitian at Middlemore Hospital where she works across a range of specialist wards and is also part of the Mission Bay Physio team two evenings a week.
As a New Zealand Registered Dietitian, she is able to give relevant, practical and evidence-based advice to improve health and wellbeing. This may include general nutrition, weight management, sports nutrition, heart health or diabetes management.
Donna is passionate about enabling people to learn about food and nutrition as part of a healthy lifestyle. Enjoyment of food and cooking, combined with an interest in health and wellness was
the driver behind her dietetic training.
We are pleased to welcome Tracey Nichols to the Mission Bay Physiotherapy team. She joins us after working in the travel industry and being a busy mother to 3 very active boys. She loves reading, pilates and travel (when time allows).
She will help ensure the smooth running of our practice!
Tracey is available to help you Monday, Tuesday and Thursdays.
Penny Oliver (Locum)
Physiotherapist, Dip Phys, PD Dip Manipulative Physiotherapy, MNZSP
Penny OIiver Penny graduated in 1989 from AUT. After graduating Penny travelled to England where she worked for 4 years gaining experience as a Physiotherapist in a variety of hospitals and private practices.
In 1994 Penny retured to NZ to complete her Post-graduate Diploma in Manipulative Physiotherapy. The following year Penny gained her PAANZ Acupuncture Registration.
Penny has a special interest in Neck and Back Pain, Racquet sport injuries, Chronic Pain
and Sport injuries in children.
